Use of E-mail

E-mail is the primary means of communication whether the e‐mail is generated by you or by a CCUA employee.  If you do communicate with CCUA by e‐mail, we will assume, unless you advise us otherwise, that you consent to CCUA using the information you have sent, including your e‐mail address, for the purpose of developing and sending an appropriate response to your communication, and disclosing it to such other advisory parties as CCUA deems appropriate for that purpose.  CCUA also primarily uses e-mail communications to provide information about products and services that may be of interest.  You have the option of withdrawing your consent to the use of your e-mail address for this purpose at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link included on all such e-mails or by contacting CCUA’s Privacy Officer at privacy@ccua.com.

Keep in mind that any non-encrypted e‐mail message you send to CCUA is not secure and is open to interception as any other non‐encrypted form of communication (e.g. ordinary mail, conversations on ordinary or cellular telephones, etc).  CCUA accepts no responsibility for the security of confidential information forwarded to us by e‐mail, and expressly discourages users of the website from sending confidential information in this manner. CCUA is committed to protecting the personal information of credit union/co‐operative directors, employees, members and other individuals. In order to protect all personal information collected, used or disclosed by CCUA, we are bound by the Canadian Credit Union Association Code for the Protection of Personal Information. This site is maintained by CCUA staff and has been integrated with the data platform, Wicket, for member onboarding and access.  To enhance your experience and improve our services, we track certain activities on our website. This includes:

  1. Sign-Ins: We record the date and time you sign in to keep your account secure and provide personalized support.
  2. Article Visits: We monitor the articles you visit to understand our users’ interests and improve our content and navigation.
  3. File Downloads: We track the files you download to ensure you have access to the resources you need and to improve our offerings.

Therefore information transmitted through this site may be collected and used by CCUA. 

In general, you can visit all public areas of this site without providing any personal information about yourself. General information collected includes the date and time of visit, the type of Internet browser used to access the site, the referring address (the link a visitor uses to access the site). This data is used to create statistics on site usage and improve online services through the use of Google Analytics.  No personal information is exchanged with Google Analytics in the provision of this service.
