Credit unions contribute to their communities’ economic, social, and environmental well-being.
CCUA supports credit unions in this important work by:
- Aligning credit union economic, social, and environmental initiatives with public policy priorities (e.g., sustainable finance, affordable housing, youth entrepreneurship);
- Promoting awareness of credit unions’ role in improving affordability for Canadians; and,
- Developing leadership in financial literacy with governments, not-for-profits, industry, and the public.
Community Impact Committee
CCUA’s community impact work is led by the Credit Union Community Impact Committee which examines social purpose initiatives to proactively pursue strategies that benefit Canada’s credit union sector.

The ESG Resource Centre provides information on several initiatives undertaken by CCUA and Canada’s credit unions to advance sustainability and ESG, along with related tools and resources for credit unions.

The Canada Sister Society is a space for credit union professionals across Canada at all points in their professional journey to convene and discuss credit union issues, exchange ideas, explore networking opportunities with Canadian credit union leaders, and share lessons learned with their fellow members.
