Payments Strategy and Payments Network Compliance

The Payments Strategy and Network Compliance teams provide both strategic and operational payments expertise to the credit union system. These groups are responsible for managing and responding to payments-related issues, providing payments-related committee support, performing critical payments-related security and compliance activities, and facilitating the development of new payments products and services for credit unions. Regulations, Standards, and Procedures

Resources to help you comply with industry regulations and standards. This includes Credit Union System Regulations, Standards & Procedures documentation as well as applicable templates and forms to manage your payment compliance obligations.



The list catalogue includes ATM lists categorized by the various networks and the National Credit Union Route Transit Listing.


Reference Material

Important documentation, such as codes of conduct, agreements, terms of reference regarding payments and compliance, manuals, and communications, that serve as vital reference material for credit unions.


Mobile Pay

Mobile Pay is a proprietary mobile wallet solution that was developed by credit unions for credit unions – where members can pay with Interac® Debit technology on Android smartphones. It’s fast. It’s easy. It’s secure.


Country Blocking and Travel Notifications

The Country Blocking and Travel Notification (CBTN) service helps credit unions manage international debit card fraud. The Country Block List is frequently updated by CCUA staff. This section includes information related to CBTN, such FAQs, website content, forms, and guides.



Templates and forms needed to expedite and standardize requests by credit unions for various actions relating to payments including, but not limited to, the ATM Form and application forms.

Governance and operation documentation related to Visa and Plus acquiring and Interac shared services.


Apple Pay

Apple Pay is transforming mobile payments with an easy, secure and private way to pay that’s fast and convenient. Members of participating credit unions can use their iPhone and Apple Watch to make purchases directly from their chequing or savings accounts at retailers displaying the Interac® Debit logo.


National ATM Program

The National ATM Program was initiated by the CEO Payments Strategy and is managed by CCUA. The Diebold-Nixdorf partnership was negotiated exclusively for the benefit of the Canadian credit union sector by leveraging the collective buying power of credit unions across the country.
