Toronto, ON – The Canadian Credit Union Association (CCUA) is pleased to announce that the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) has recognized Martha Durdin, President and CEO of CCUA, as the recipient of the ROM’s 2020 Lieutenant Governor’s Distinguished Service Award. This prestigious award celebrates Durdin’s extraordinary and meritorious service to the ROM – an institution that connects millions of people to art, culture and nature.

Named after the Honorary Patron of the ROM, the Lieutenant Governor’s Distinguished Service Award is the highest honour the Museum can bestow on a volunteer. Durdin has been involved with the ROM since 2013, first as a Member of the Board of Trustees and most recently as Chair of the Trustee Board. Her leadership, commitment and many contributions have been invaluable in strengthening the ROM.

Durdin is currently a ROM Honorary Trustee who continues to provide extensive service, guidance and support to the Museum and to the diverse range of communities it serves. Durdin is also the recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012).
