Enhancements Planned for CUDA Level CE Requirements

Published Date: Oct 3, 2023

Canada’s financial service industry is among the strongest in the world, in part because of our country’s effective compliance and risk management standards. Ongoing professional development helps your board stay on top of industry changes and prepare for what’s ahead.

We’re excited to announce enhancements to the Continuing Education component of the CUDA program. Effective October 1, 2023, we have broadened what is recognized as CE credits. Click here to review the full list.

Further, in 2024, the Credit Union Institute of Canada (CUIC) and Dalhousie University will introduce new annual CE credit requirements to the Credit Union Director Achievement (CUDA) program. CUDA graduates will require six CE credits to maintain their graduate status each year, and Accredited Canadian Credit Union Directors (ACCUDs) will be required to obtain a minimum of 12 CE credits per year to maintain their accreditation status. With a wider array of governance activities now being recognized for CE credits and a commitment to support the rapidly evolving needs of the credit union sector, this is a win-win. Directors will have the entire 2024 calendar year to earn and report their CE credits. More details will be communicated to CUDA graduates and ACCUDs in the coming weeks.

There is no change to the 2023 calendar year CE requirements, and Accredited Directors can click here to complete their annual attestation.
