Spotlight on success: Lori Naka earns Associate of the Credit Union Institute of Canada designation

Published Date: Oct 29, 2026

CCUA is proud to spotlight the exemplary achievements of our members, and we would love to take this opportunity to recognize recent graduate Lori Naka! Lori recently earned the coveted Associate of the Credit Union Institute of Canada (ACUIC) designation, an accreditation that has been 10 years in the making.

A strong believer in lifelong learning, Lori’s journey toward earning the ACUIC designation spanned a decade of university studies. With only two classes remaining, Lori paused her studies. When CCUA reached out to see how the team could help her move forward, it opened the door to completing a goal she had worked toward for many years.

For Lori, earning the designation was about more than completing a program. It was also a recognition of the many ways learning and professional development can take place over the course of a career.

Lori also credits the personal support she received throughout the process:

"I am truly grateful to Sherice, CCUA's Program Enrollment Manager, for her personal outreach, encouragement, and willingness to look at my learning journey as a whole. Her support made a real difference in helping me reach this milestone. For me, this experience is a reminder that learning takes many forms, and a pause along the way does not have to mean the end of the journey."

Lori’s achievement is also an important reminder that learning can take many forms and that taking a pause does not have to mean giving up on a goal.

Congratulations, Lori, on earning your ACUIC designation and on an accomplishment that reflects decades of learning, experience, and dedication to the credit union sector.
