Provincial Election Debate Set for October 16 

Leaders of Saskatchewan’s two main political parties' are hoping to attract votes with their performances in the upcoming leaders debate on Wednesday, October 16. Scott Moe and Carla Beck have confirmed their participation in the televised debate ahead of the October 28 election. 

Over one-third of the MLAs elected on October 28 will be new legislators, so if you are planning any activities at your credit union on October 17 to celebrate International Credit Union Day, please consider inviting your local political candidates. It is a great way to build relationships and raise awareness of your credit union's importance in the local community.

CCUA will provide assistance in coordinating these meetings with key candidates and has also sent letters to the main party leaders requesting they prioritize updates to the Credit Union Act in the next legislative session.

Minimum Wage Rises in October 

Effective October 1st, Saskatchewan’s minimum wage was increased to $15. More information about minimum wage provisions can be found on the Saskatchewan Employment Standards website.
