Fall Professional Development Activities for Employees
Have you noticed just how quickly the PSLs (Pumpkin Spice Lattes) have arrived at your favorite coffee spot this year? Love them or hate them, there is
CCUA Education extends our sincere thanks to Randy Dagasdas, Rochelle Pelly, and Charlotte Jewer, who shared stories during our September 29 webinar about how they and their credit unions have focused on the Calls to Action and their commitment to making a difference in their communities.
During the webinar, Randy and Rochelle shared how Me-Dian Credit Union’s mission is providing financial services for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people. They both gave us powerful examples of how they bring their mission to life, and noted that in 2009, Me-Dian Credit Union opened its doors even wider, welcoming in non-Indigenous folks as associate members of the credit union. To this day, Me-Dian Credit Union serves all Manitobans in the spirit of reconciliation.
Charlotte of East Coast Credit Union also shared how they’ve partnered with other credit unions in the Atlantic region to support The North American Indigenous Games (NAIG), held in Halifax this past July. Charlotte shared her story about her credit union’s desire to help Indigenous artisans sell their traditional jewelry, clothing, and food through the sponsorship of the Cultural Village. She also shared what was learned about the importance of inclusion from the event.
We encourage all credit union employees to keep this spirit of truth and reconciliation alive throughout the whole year, and post-event registration will remain available for 90 days to view the recording. Please contact clientsolutions@ccua.com for further inquiry.
