Did you know that credit union board members can leverage an existing governance certification or accreditation such as the ICD.D, C.DIR, ProDir, etc., to fastrack their way through the Credit Union Director Achievement (CUDA) program?
New directors can quickly learn how credit unions are governed and what makes the governance of financial cooperatives different than other businesses. Through a blend of online sessions and self-paced eLearning, directors can gain the knowledge they need to participate actively in discussions from day one. The FastTrack program answers these questions and more:
- What is unique about credit union governance?
- What key financial metrics are used by credit unions?
- Are there new red flags or risks directors should watch for?
- Why is liquidity risk so important?
Existing directors who hold a non-credit union governance credential, and are interested in becoming an Accredited Canadian Credit Union Director, can complete the FastTrack program and write their exam in just a few months. Achieving this designation puts directors in the top 7% of all credit union directors nationally.
Dates for the FastTrack program will be scheduled annually, or when there is sufficient directors interested in a cohort. Director intake is now open. If you are interested in participating in the FastTrack program please submit your governance training transcripts or proof of certification through the CCUA Campus Credit Transfer Activity here.
If your board has several directors who are interested in completing the FastTrack program together please contact client solutions for group pricing at clientsolutions@ccua.com.
