Yesterday, Minister Ron Kostyshyn announced that the Government of Manitoba will open two new Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation (MASC) offices in western Manitoba.
The new offices are set to open in Shoal Lake and Virden, Manitoba. Each location will be staffed with four full-time employees and one casual employee. Both offices are anticipated to be open by the end of summer. Precise opening dates and accompanying details will be shared directly with clients in the coming months.

Government Funding Opportunities Now Open
Credit unions working with community groups, non-profit organizations, some businesses and municipalities should be aware of these programs that are currently accepting applications:
- Manitoba Government announces intake for two community development grant programs
Municipalities and organizations across Manitoba can apply for funding through From the Ground Up and the Urban/Hometown Green Team program, two community development grant programs that support youth employment, local capacity-building and economic development, Municipal and Northern Relations Minister Glen Simard announced last week.
The Urban/Hometown Green Team program supports youth employment on community projects between May and September. Eligible applicants include municipal governments (excluding the City of Winnipeg), Northern Affairs community councils and non-profit organizations throughout Manitoba.
The From the Ground Up Grant Program supports community capacity building in three categories:
- community economic development
- well-being and recreation
- housing and safety co-ordination supports.

- Manitoba Government invests $1.5 Million to support low-carbon future
To help organizations take action on climate change, the Manitoba government is making available $1.5 million for grants for green projects that meet a variety of objectives including:
- helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Manitoba;
- supporting a low-carbon, net-zero economy;
- enhancing preparedness to the impacts of a changing climate;
- increasing affordable, renewable energy innovation and production in Manitoba.
Eligible applicants include incorporated non-profit organizations, academic and educational institutions, municipalities, businesses, northern and Indigenous communities.
The application intake is now open and will close at noon on Jan. 25.

- Government of Manitoba Continues to Reduce Barriers Through Manitoba Accessibility Fund
Eligible organizations, including registered charities, non-profit organizations, local businesses, on-reserve entities and municipalities based in Manitoba, can apply to receive up to 100 per cent of project costs, with a maximum of $50,000 per application.
Projects must target accessibility standards under the Accessibility for Manitobans Act to improve customer service, employment or information and communication, and must also fulfil one of three objectives including:
- raising awareness about the prevention and removal of barriers;
- developing tools, resources and training to support compliance with legislated standards; or
- removing barriers to information and communications electronically, in print and in person.
