Get Ready For International Credit Union (ICU) Day with the Help of Credit Union Sector Training

Published Date: Sep 18, 2024

The World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) states that “International Credit Union (ICU) Day® celebrates the spirit of the global credit union movement. The day is recognized to reflect on the credit union movement’s history, promote its achievements, recognize hard work and share member experiences. International Credit Union (ICU) Day® has been celebrated on the third Thursday of October since 1948.”

This year, help your team create awareness of the incredible work done by credit unions with the CUIC 201: Credit Unions: Different by Design course. For those looking for an overview of the same material, we recommend our eLearning course, Overview of the Credit Union System, which is a staple in many onboarding programs for credit unions across the country.

Both courses will educate learners on the key benefits of credit unions, including:

  • How it’s the financial institution of choice for millions of Canadians
  • Credit unions are a great place to work
  • They offer significant support to communities across the country.

Additionally, each course helps learners recognize what contributes to the strength of the Canadian credit union sector, how the business is based on the co-operative principles, and most importantly what sets credit unions apart from other financial service providers.

Upon completion of either course, learners will have a stronger sense of how credit unions are unique, powerful, and well positioned to help Canadians with all their financial service needs. They will have increased confidence and be able to share the credit union story with current and prospective members.

Don’t wait, the 76th anniversary of ICU Day is the perfect time to learn how credit unions build stronger communities one member at a time! Enroll in CUIC 201 and Overview of the Credit Union System today.
