FSRA Releases Final Guidance on Principles-Based Regulatory Approach 

FSRA recently released their Principles-Based Guidance that outlines their approach as a principles-based regulator. FSRA will be virtually presenting to all sectors on this new guidance on October 7th at 11am. The news release and registration link can be found here. CCUA Financial Consumer Protection Framework Regulations Review 

CCUA has reviewed FCAC’s Financial Consumer Protection Framework to determine whether there is a direct comparable within the new 2023 Consumer Protection Act in Ontario, the Credit Unions and Caisses Populaires Act, and our Market Code of Conduct. We will send the analysis to the Ministry of Finance and continue to support Ontario Credit Unions in Consumer-Driven Banking.
