Ahead of the 2023 federal budget, please email your MP about the importance of credit unions and the critical amendments needed to the Income Tax Act. Currently, the definition of a credit union in the Income Tax Act is 50 years old. Credit unions have changed since then to serve Canadians better, and the legislative definition needs to catch up.

We have been actively lobbying MPs ahead of the budget and have had positive discussions with Minister Freeland’s office.
