Case studies are powerful learning tools. They engage cohort learners in research and reflective discussion, allowing participants to analyze, synthesize, and evaluate member situations before needing to use those skills in the real world. Working through credit union specific business lending case studies challenges our learners to identify risk factors, improving their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, while creating opportunities for collaboration with peers across the country.  

The CUIC 345 Business Lending Cohort has been redesigned, refreshed, and is ready for a new group of cohort learners to experience a more impactful learning journey. This cohort will kick off on August 29th and run until early December, so register today to take advantage of a unique learning experience involving:

What's more, this cohort is being facilitated by our newest CUIC faculty member, Chantelle Mamone, who is the Director & Team Lead, Commercial Services at Meridian Credit Union.  

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of the business lending process, from loan assessment to proposal presentation. The course aims to equip learners with the tools required to navigate the complexities of economic conditions, market impacts, and internal business practices that influence lending decisions. Guided by Chantelle, cohort participants will explore and practice complex business lending challenges in a safe environment, giving them the confidence needed to succeed in their role. 

If you want to improve your ability to analyze business history and industry risks while being more effective in evaluating management competencies, this is the course for you. If you want to learn more about cash cycles, cash flow forecasts, and gain a greater understanding of how to evaluate various methods of security valuation and property appraisal, this course is for you. If you want to improve your skills in prospecting, negotiating, and closing business deals, this course is for you.
