In recent years, CCUA has partnered with the Nova Scotia Co-Op Council and Atlantic Central to host a co-operative sector government reception during Co-Op Week in October. The goal of this event is to raise the profile of the co-op sector with MLAs and increase awareness of the impact of co-op institutions across the province. In past receptions, CCUA and Atlantic Central have given remarks during the speaking portion of the event. Atlantic Central is also a financial partner and contributes $8,000 toward the event cost.
CCUA is evaluating our advocacy efforts in Nova Scotia, including the government reception. We are seeking feedback from credit unions about this reception to see if it is meeting your expectations. In the past year, CCUA hosted successful credit union specific government receptions in Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island and are open to considering that option for Nova Scotia. Your feedback on a proposed Nova Scotia reception will help provide us with important insight into how we at CCUA can best serve our members. We are seeking feedback from credit unions about this reception and have created a brief 3 question survey that should take one minute to complete.
