Join CCUA on June 27 & 29 for an ESG and Climate Competency focused eClass and on June 28 for CCUA’s complimentary webinar featuring a credit union guide to climate governance. Both activities are pre-approved for CE credits towards an Accredited Canadian Credit Union Director (ACCUD) designation.
First, on June 27th & June 29th, CCUA Education will host a Credit Union Director Achievement Program (CUDA) Level CE course delivered in partnership with the Canada Climate Law Initiative (CCLI), entitled ESG Oversight and Climate Competency for Boards. This session will answer the following questions:
- What does Environmental, Social, and Governance oversight look like in practice, within boards and committees?
- How can a board expand its ability to anticipate and respond to future challenges and opportunities?
- What are the implications of increased corporate disclosure for directors?
- How is the risk landscape changing for credit unions and what does this mean for boards?
Next, CCUA will host a webinar on June 28th titled Climate Risk and Governance Guide for Canadian Credit Union Directors, described below:
Credit unions have an essential role to play as financial system stakeholders mobilize to address climate change and advance Canada’s transition to a net-zero economy. The new “Climate Risk and Governance Guide for Canadian Credit Union Directors”, developed by the Canadian Climate Law Initiative in collaboration with CCUA, offers actionable steps and strategies for credit unions addressing climate risk and protecting the financial savings of their members.
