As part of the Bank of Canada’s research into the possibility of issuing a digital form of the Canadian dollar, also known as a central bank digital currency (CBDC), the Bank launched a consultation in May on the features that could be included in a digital Canadian dollar. Looking for feedback via survey, the Bank was seeking to understand which features are most important to Canadians, how people would likely use it, which security features are important, and concerns about accessibility and privacy. The consultation has now closed.
