In April, CCUA hosted a Queen’s Park Advocacy Day, which began with a breakfast reception where CCUA members had a chance to mingle with Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs) and their staff. Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Finance, Michelle Cooper, along with Finance Critics, Jessica Bell (NDP), Stephanie Bowman (Liberal), and Green Party Deputy Leader, Aislinn Clancy, were there for the opening remarks.
Our breakfast reception was followed by a robust roundtable discussion with the Assistant Deputy Minister of the Financial Services Policy Division, Nicole Stewart, and her team from the Ministry of Finance at the Campbell Conference Facility within the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy. The rest of the day was dedicated to meetings with MPPs with dialogue on extra-provincial operations, breaking down barriers for Ontario credit unions, and pushing for new growth opportunities.
We would like to thank the Government for its continued support on a number of files. We will continue to work with the Government to strengthen the sector and better serve and support members in the province.
