Attention Lenders! Applied Delinquency and Collection eClass Coming This December

Published Date: Nov 6, 2024

Delinquency management begins the day you close the loan with your member, making it a crucial part of every loan. Our Applied Delinquency and Collection eClass focuses on building the required skills and knowledge you need to know within the delinquency and collection process to minimize the impact to the member and the credit union.

By utilizing assigned pre-work reading, reflection, and participation in directed group discussion, this course explores fundamental concepts within the collection process, while keeping the focus on treating members with dignity and respect. Learners will also learn how to approach each unique situation in a professional and confident manner while protecting the best interests of the credit union through risk mitigation.

More than 90% of past learners confirmed they were able to apply what they've learned to their work. Jackie, an FSO at Sydney Credit Union, added:

I really enjoyed the course and learned a lot that will be helpful in my job as a lender. I feel more confident in contacting a member now who has fallen behind knowing which questions to ask and why I'm asking them.  Discussing the 5C's credit and the relevancy in underwriting will be something I'll keep forefront of my mind now, as the value in those C's is so important. Also loved the What, When, Why, How questions when dealing with a loan in arrears. That will be helpful.  Rhonda was so knowledgeable and relaxed and made the learning very interesting and not at all boring. She was so engaging, I really liked her delivery of the material. The course participants were really into being involved too, so it was really a good learning avenue. - Jackie Young, Financial Services Officer, Sydney Credit Union.

The winter months can be financially challenging, and this course helps learners develop the strategies needed to prevent delinquent situations before they occur. Participants learn ways to help restore member accounts to good standing at the first sign of difficulty.

This course is delivered virtually on December 2, 4, and 6, and you can register here today.
