Every year, the Canadian Credit Union Association (CCUA) publishes the Credit Union Community and Economic Impact Report. This report is a critical advocacy tool to promote the credit union value proposition to legislators, media, stakeholders and Canadians.
Over the past year, the pandemic has shone a light on local businesses and communities. This survey is an opportunity for credit unions to quantify their support for both.
By completing this survey and reporting on your credit union’s key economic, social, and environmental metrics, you will be contributing to the growing awareness of the sector. Additionally, the anonymized aggregated data is distributed back to credit unions for their benefit and use.
We have designed the survey to take less than 20 minutes to complete, and we believe the majority of the requested information is in your annual report. Most of the questions are based on year-end 2020 metrics, unless stated otherwise.
The survey deadline has been extended to July 16, 2021. So far, more than 80 per cent of credit unions in the Atlantic provinces have responded compared to about one-in-five from the other provinces and none from Alberta. Without strong participation from every province, the results will underrepresent the strong support credit unions provide to their communities.
