The third quarter 2018 results for the Canadian credit union sector are now available on the CCUA website.
The Canadian credit union system reported solid financial results in the first nine months of 2018.
Listed below are a few of the key highlights:
- Affiliated credit unions/caisses populaires reported $229.7 billion in assets as of third quarter 2018, representing a 7.6 per cent increase over the same period in 2017.
- Canadians had $193.9 billion on deposit with affiliated credit unions and caisses populaires, representing an increase of $12.2 billion or 6.7 per cent over third quarter 2017.
- The loan portfolio grew by 8.1 per cent over the previous year. Total loans recorded a $14.6 billion gain, with $195 billion in lending activity at third quarter 2018.
- There are 250 credit unions and caisses populaires, with 1,773 locations and 5,750,641 members.
