Government Relations & Advocacy

Working in partnership with governments at all levels allows credit unions to promote public policy solutions that contribute to economic growth, banking innovation, social impact and greater community prosperity.

CCUA is the voice of credit unions to the federal government. We rely on solid research, grassroots advocacy and direct representation to legislators and officials.

Hike the Hill at Home

Summer’s coming. That means one thing for credit unions: the opportunity for a local meeting with your MP is right around the corner. This is your opportunity to make sure the federal government understands the issues that affect your credit union, your members and your communities. CCUA is here to help you schedule and hold effective local meetings with your legislators.

Grassroots Advocacy

Credit union staff and their directors are our best advocates to ensure MPs understand how credit unions do banking differently. CCUA provides grassroots advocates with government relations training and resources through the CU Nation® advocacy network and our online advocacy centre.
