There is a lot to know when starting a new job at a credit union. Our courses provide solid foundational knowledge and skills to help new employees succeed in their roles with confidence.
Overview of the Credit Union System
The Canadian credit union system has a rich history spanning over 100 years. Currently more than 1 in 5 Canadians are members of a credit union. In this course, you will become oriented to the breadth, scope and span of our system and you will learn about our local, provincial and national structure and the nine foundational credit union operating principles.
Credit Unions: Different by Design (CUIC 201)
Credit unions are different by design, but engrossed in their day-to-day work, it can be difficult for employees to see and feel “the difference”. This engaging eight-module course explores why and how we are different by design from several perspectives. Available as a cohort or as a self study.
Products & Services (CUIC 185)
Knowing your credit union’s products and services is key to building your understanding of the business and to providing excellent service. Do both and you can consistently contribute to your credit union’s success. This 10-module course is a practical overview of the products and services typically offered by credit unions as deposit-taking financial institutions as well as our competitors. Available as a cohort or as a self study.
