At the end of June 2016, Cusource ® Learning announced the formation of a new partnership with The Schulich School of Business (Schulich). This partnership will deliver a customized and comprehensive profiling tool that will provide tailored learning for Canada's credit union directors, and will help to strengthen credit union board governance across the country.
Cusource and Schulich, in collaboration with stakeholders within the credit union system, including a selection of directors, regional Centrals, regulators, faculty and credit union executives across Canada, are conducting a series of consultations to look at the individual competencies (knowledge and skills), experiences, attitude, and attributes of high performing credit union directors.
The results will be combined with more than thirty years of validated data from which Schulich will create a "Director DNA™", or profile, of highly effective directors. This profile will include a series of best practices and research-based learnings which will then be used to create unique, individualized plans to advance the skillset of Canada's credit union directors.
During our National Conference for Credit Unions in early May, CCUA and Schulich launched its Executive Summary which outlines key findings from the study, which incorporates significant input from executives, regulators, faculty, and directors through multiple interviews and individual assessments with a sample of Canadian credit union directors from coast to coast.
