Today, the Canadian Credit Union Association (CCUA) is proud to celebrate the 76th anniversary of International Credit Union Day®, an annual event to commemorate the credit union movement’s impact and achievements.
Since 1948, International Credit Union Day has been celebrated annually on the third Thursday of October. Each year, the international event affords the opportunity to remember credit unions’ proud history and promote awareness of and support for the credit union and financial cooperative difference.
Award-winning Customer Service
Canada’s credit unions have always been passionate about providing Canadians with a personalized client experience. In fact, Canada’s credit unions were awarded the top prize for Customer Service at the 2024 IPSOS Financial Service Excellence Awards – a recognition they’ve been awarded for a remarkable 20 years in a row. This sustained recognition further illustrates their unwavering commitment to member service and the consistent excellence that differentiates credit unions in the financial sector.
At this year’s award’s, Canada’s credit unions won in a total of six categories:
- Customer Service Excellence (solo win)
- Values My Business (solo win)
- Financial Planning & Advice
- Branch Service Excellence (solo win)
- Online Banking Excellence
- Live Agent Telephone Banking Excellence
