On September 8, CCUA prepared a submission in response to the federal government's 2026 pre-budget consultation.
The submission provides recommendations focused on three main themes:
- Supporting credit union growth to increase competition and consumer choice;
- Modernizing and right-sizing financial regulation; and
- Strengthening Canada's response to fraud, scams, and financial extortion.
We look forward to continuing the conversation with the federal government and relevant agencies as we work to advance the recommendations outlined in this submission and support the interests of Canada’s credit unions
