The Ontario government has broadened eligibility for the Protect Ontario Financing Program. This program supports SMEs facing tariff-related disruptions by providing financial support for payroll, lease payments, and utility payments. The program is part of Ontario’s $30 billion tariff relief and support plan, which includes a suite of tactical measures and initiatives described in the provincial government’s news release here. CCUA will to monitor provincial tariff programs and relief supports and share these with members.
CCUA has connected with both the Ministry of Finance team and the Minister’s office to indicate that Ontario credit unions stand ready to support Ontario businesses as needed. CCUA is working alongside the Ontario Chamber of Commerce to ensure support for SMEs. We will continue to advocate for appropriate relief measures as circumstances change.
