The Government of Saskatchewan is engaging stakeholders to ensure the priorities set out in the Next Policy Framework Policy Statement reflect the needs of Saskatchewan’s agriculture and agri-food sector.  

The Next Policy Framework is the federal-provincial-territorial agricultural policy framework that will replace the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP) upon its expiration on March 31, 2028, and will guide agricultural and agri-food programming across Canada for the 2028-2033 period. Federal, provincial and territorial governments' negotiations on the Next Policy Framework are underway and will continue over the next two years. Feedback will be used to identify priority areas, emerging issues and sector-specific challenges to inform Saskatchewan's input into federal-provincial-territorial negotiations on the Ministerial Policy Statement. 

CCUA gathered feedback from credit unions to develop a high-level submission for this first phase of engagement. A copy of the submission is available here. CCUA will continue to engage with the Ministry on the Next Policy Framework.
