The Government of New Brunswick released a climate change risk assessment report earlier this week. The report assesses the challenges posed by climate change, identifying key factors and highlighting the impacts over time. Increased coastal and inland flooding, along with a growing threat from wildfires, pose the most significant dangers to New Brunswickers. The key takeaways for economic activities and livelihoods focus on the urgent risks to climate-sensitive sectors, such as agriculture, fisheries, aquaculture, and tourism.

The report includes five focus areas:

1. Public Health and Safety
2. Natural Environment
3. Community
4. Economic Activities and Livelihoods
5. Physical Infrastructure
