Each One, Teach One: Credit Unions Helping Canadians Build Financial Confidence

Published Date: Nov 18, 2025

November is Financial Literacy Month, the perfect time to celebrate the impactful work credit unions are doing to empower Canadians in making informed financial decisions.

This week, we’re highlighting the Each One, Teach One program—a national initiative that trains credit union staff to deliver free, plain-language financial literacy workshops in their communities. The program continues to grow, helping Canadians build confidence and take control of their financial futures.

As an adopter of the FCAC's National Financial Literacy Strategy, the Each One Teach One program ensures:

  • More Canadians understand which financial products and services are appropriate for their own situation
  • More Canadian use tools that use behavioural insights in the design and presentation of financial decisions to facilitate and motivate choices leading to better outcomes.
  • More Canadians have access to, and use, relevant and unbiased financial advice that is affordable.

If your credit union is running financial literacy activities, hosting workshops, or launching new initiatives this month, please share your stories with us on our social channels. Tag CCUA, use #FLM2025 hashtag, and let’s impact of financial literacy together.

Let’s make Financial Literacy Month a powerful reminder of how we support financial empowerment from coast to coast.
