This Friday, May 30, 2025 two credit union representatives will join CUCM and CCUA to begin the initial discussions with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Brenda DeSerranno and Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation (MASC) CEO Jared Munro to establish a credit union/Ministry of Agriculture liaison group. This meeting follows the introductory meeting that the CUCM and CCUA along with three credit union representatives, had with Minister Kostyshyn on March 21, 2024, during which they agreed to explore establishing a credit union/Ministry of Agriculture liaison group. Since this initial meeting with the Minister, the credit union sector has received very positive feedback from the Minister on his desire to form this group. Manitoba credit unions are seeking to collaborate with MASC to ensure they are aware of the financial resources available within the credit union sector to support growth producers and agribusinesses, and that the services the crown corporation offers are complementary and do not duplicate existing financial services.
