October is Cybersecurity Month: Help Protect Your Members with eLearning

Published Date: Sep 25, 2024

With cyber attacks becoming increasingly sophisticated and targeted, it is crucial to ensure that critical areas of your infrastructure are properly protected, regardless of the size of your credit union. This includes keeping your team up to date with the latest education tools.

The Flag Financial Crime Micro-learning Series is our financial crime library created in partnership with Tamlo®. It is filled with video-based assets to help your team build awareness, including a module dedicated to Cybercrime. These concise, fast-paced courses are five to ten minutes long and feature role plays, case studies, video interviews, or interactive exercises. They are excellent for keeping financial crime top of mind.

We also offer a variety of other resources for credit unions:

Fraud Awareness is a 20-minute eLearning course and the cornerstone for understanding, detecting and preventing financial fraud.

Card Fraud is another 20-minute eLearning course that provides an overview of card fraud; the different types of card transactions, common methods criminals use to steal cards and card data, and offers techniques to protect member information.

Further, the Canadian Credit Union Association (CCUA) and the Large Credit Union Coalition (LCUC) have partnered to provide useful resources to help educate folks about different types of cyber threats and safe browsing habits. Our goal is to help credit unions and their members across Canada feel confident in using cybersecurity best practices every time they get online. View the videos here.

Lastly, did you know that Canada’s Anti-Fraud Centre offers information on the latest scams? And that the Competition Bureau of Canada offers a wide range of tips and advice on protecting yourself against fraud and scammers? The Competition Bureau even offers a quiz to test your knowledge! By staying informed and vigilant, you can minimize the risk of becoming a victim of cybercrime. You can complete the quiz here.
