On Tuesday, April 23rd, the last day of the Spring Sitting, MLAs unanimously voted in favour of passing Bill 54 An Act to Amend the Credit Unions Act. CCUA has been in contact with the Department of Justice and Public Safety, who have advised that a review of updated regulations will begin in May. We expect that credit unions will have a brief period in which to assess and provide comment on the revised regulations. We will keep CUMA apprised of any updates in the coming weeks.
