Did you know Earth Day was originally founded in 1970? How about that the average human produces almost five pounds of garbage a day? Or that in Canada, on average, 600 million trees are planted every year? 

For Earth Day on April 22nd, and everyday throughout the year, CCUA recognizes both the importance of sustainable practices as well as continuous learning about sustainability in the workplace and beyond.

We wanted to highlight a few courses from our partners at Skillsoft that you can take today to keep your sustainability knowledge evergreen. 

If you’re interested in some quick, effective courses with targeted themes, check out the following: 

• Adopting a Green Lifestyle – This 20-minute course discusses how to reduce our environmental impact by adopting a green lifestyle. You’ll discover the current environmental issues, how lifestyle choices have changed the environment, and the actions that will help reduce this impact. 
• Waste Reduction – This 26-minute course covers the definitions and methods for the 4Rs – reduce, reuse, recycle, and repair. It also covers sustainable consumption and production, the circular economy, and the methods to reduce waste in commercial offices. 
• Clean, Green Energy Choices – This 37-minute course demonstrates how the environment provides multiple sources of clean energy and we need to take advantage of the technology available to us to harness energy from the resources at our disposal, such as solar, wind, and hydropower. It further covers ways to be more energy efficient.
