Prosper Canada Seeking Volunteers for its Board of Directors

Prosper Canada is currently seeking candidates to fill a position on its Board of Directors. Founded in 1986, Prosper Canada is a national charity dedicated to expanding economic opportunity for Canadians living in poverty through program and policy innovation. This organization is well known as a leader in financial empowerment, as they work with government, business, and community partners to help development and promote financial policies, programs, and resources that financially empower Canadians.

If you are passionate about the reducing the disparities in financial inclusion, opportunity, and health in Canada and ensuring that all Canadians have equal access to the financial products, services, and the advice they need to achieve financial wellbeing, then look no further - apply to be part Prosper Canada's Board of Directors.

To qualify for this opportunity, Prosper Canada is seeking individuals with advanced financial expertise, including a CPA designation, and prior non-profit Board experience and/or training. In addition candidates must bring one or more of the following perspectives, skills, and/or experiences to this role:

  • Member of an Indigenous community: Member of a First Nation, Inuit or Métis community with a passion for building financial capability and opportunity for Indigenous Peoples.
  • Member of an equity seeking group: Member of an equity-seeking population – e.g., someone with lived experience of poverty, person living with a disability, a member of a racialized community, LGBT2S, woman, and/or a newcomer.
  • Resident of a province other than Ontario: Live in Quebec, the west, the Territories, or the Maritimes and would help to bring another regional perspective to our Board.
