The Canadian Credit Union Association (CCUA) is pleased to participate in the further consultation on the Government of Canada’s intention to fight predatory lending by lowering the criminal rate of interest in the Criminal Code of Canada to a 35% annual percentage rate (APR) and the types of loans that fall outside of the government’s stated policy intent and could therefore be considered for a regulatory exemption.
