National Awareness Educational Program Update

Published Date: Feb 8, 2023

February 6, 2023

CCUA’s What is a Credit Union? educational program wrapped up on January 31st, 2023 having launched in October 2022. The program included sponsored content through national and regional media outlets, such as Narcity Canada, and was also expanded to include sponsored content through a few reputable content creators’ social channels that are popular within our target audience's demographic (e.g. Two Girls Investing and New Money Nate). This strategy allowed us to expand our reach further and earn credibility through trusted content creators.

Results Highlights

The program was active in all provinces, apart from Quebec, Yukon, and Northwest Territories, and achieved over 13 million impressions, resulted in over 18,500 website visitors, and saw a 45% increase in the average duration per website visitor, meaning our audience is staying on our site longer and finding more value in our content.

Shareable Assets

All images and reels that we posted for the duration of the 2022 program are available for download here and can be re-shared on your credit union's social channels. Credit unions can also re-purpose articles from Canada's Credit Unions blog. For the most up-to-date content, we strongly recommend that you follow Canada's Credit Unions' social channels and simply re-share our posts with your network of followers:

Share Your Credit Union Member Experience Videos!

To further demonstrate the positive impact and benefits of banking with a credit union, we have started to share member experience videos received from credit unions on our social channels. If you would like your credit union featured, please send any of your credit union's member experience videos to nationalawareness@ccua.com.

Next Steps for 2023

We will continue to keep our social channels and blog active with regular posts as we work with the National Marketing Council in the coming months to solidify our activation plan for the remainder of the year.
