CCUA is excited to announce Garth Warner of Servus Credit Union as the 2021 Distinguished Credit Union Leader Award winner.
Warner was formally announced as the Award recipient during CCUA’s 2021 Virtual Annual General Meeting held on Monday May 10, 2021. The Distinguished Credit Union Leader Award is a prestigious award to honour individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership that is national in scope and results in measurable and sustainable change to the credit union system.
Warner is a champion of collaboration which has resulted in numerous successful initiatives across the country. He played an active role in Project Blueprint which involved the consolidation of mutual funds into new wrap products. These products provided a new source of income for credit unions. Warner was also instrumental in engineering the Prairie Payment Initiative, and he has contributed to the system through participation on the LCUC, Executive Roundtable and various other credit union groups.
Under Warner’s leadership, Servus has been a strong supporter of the World Council of Credit Unions and their important work in the international arena.
